I have previously reviewed our stay at the Ocean View Suite as well as our experience with Seasalt’s Seafood Brunch at Alila Seminyak. And now, it’s finally time to talk about other dining options as well as the hotel amenities at Alila Seminyak! Let’s go~! ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ

✨ BEFORE YOU GO ✨

Dining Options in Alila Seminyak

There is no lack of good food when it comes to Seminyak. There are so many highly recommended restaurants and cafes along the Seminyak main street. This is provided you are not too lazy to take a 10-minute walk to the main street. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

We are lazy like that so we decided to indulge ourselves by dining at the two restaurants in Alila Seminyak. |ω・)ノ There is the Beach Bar, which is located just beside the beach. It is also the restaurant to be if you want to enjoy the ocean waves or the beautiful sunset. Then there is the Seasalt restaurant, which serves as the main restaurant in Alila Seminyak.

Drinks, Light Snacks and Sunset by the Beach Bar

We went to the Beach Bar to chill while waiting for our suite to be ready. We heard the roaring sound coming from the direction of the ocean as we got near the Beach Bar. Once there, we were greeted by the waves madly crashing against the shore. The waves were crashing so hard and so close to the Beach Bar that it felt as if they were going to crash INTO the restaurant. ヽ(°〇°)ノ Check out my previous post if you want to experience the power of the monstrous waves. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Since we hardly get to enjoy such strong waves, we decided to chill on the sofa seat beside the Beach Bar. There were bean bags just right by the beach but it felt safer to sit behind them. (´• ω •`) I decided to order the Alila Spritz as it seemed like an easy drink. Popcorn was also served with our drinks~! This was our second time having popcorn with alcohol, our first time being at Shangri-La Singapore’s Valley Wing. Can this be a common thing to have because I love all the popcorn that these hotels are serving? (´ ω `♡)

Easy-To-Drink became Easy-To-Get Drunk

Honestly, I need to be careful with easy-to-drink alcoholic drinks. The Alila Spritz was so easy to drink that it got me drunk. As I was turning my head to look around, I suddenly felt like I was spinning! (・・;)ゞ I asked hubs if I was looking red, you know, the usual Asian flush thing (which I hate a lot by the way). And obviously, I was! And that’s when we both realised the Alila Spritz got me! ٩(× ×)۶

This wasn’t the first time that such an innocent-looking alcoholic drink has got me. We were at Raffles Singapore trying out the Singapore Sling and with no warning, I was hit with a very bad throbbing headache. The Singapore Sling was so easy to drink that I forgot it had alcohol in it. (×_×) I felt so terrible after that experience and had to drag myself back to our hotel room to rest.

The innocent-looking Singapore Sling at Raffles Singapore’s Long Bar (´• ω •`)

So yes, I felt terrible after the Alila Spritz as well. (ノД`) Luckily our suite was ready by then so I could take a rest before we continued exploring Alila Seminyak. It sucks as I was struggling to walk while feeling light-headed and my face so hot. URGH. (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)

Enjoying the Sunset by the Beach in front of Alila Seminyak

As with most beach properties, the Beach Bar at Alila Seminyak is where you could chill by the bean bags or sofa to enjoy the lovely sunset. The Beach Bar was full when we were by the beach enjoying the low tide while watching the sun go down the horizon.

When we were back in the hotel, interestingly a lot of people were starting to leave. If you are a sunset chaser, you would know that the sky after the sun sets is the most beautiful. So pro tip, stay until after twilight to enjoy the beautiful scenery! ♡ (⇀ 3 ↼) We could enjoy the lovely sky from our Ocean View Suite but since it was our last night in Alila Seminyak, we decided to grab ourselves a seat to enjoy the scenery into the night. (~‾▽‾)~

Light Snacks to Chill into the Night

As we were chilling by the bean bag seats, we ordered some light snacks to go with, you got it, Alila Spritz! This time, I tried to drink it slowly with food and I think it was better. (¬‿¬ ) We had the Crispy Teri as well as the Grilled Prawns. Both were delicious but to be honest, it was so tough to eat under the dim lights. Hahaha! The Cripsy Teri was an easy snack but it was not easy to try to peel the prawns in the dark. So don’t make the same mistake as us if you want to chill by the bean bag seats with light snacks. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

As the sky gets darker, so does the night. I didn’t bring along any cardigan with me since we didn’t expect to chill by the Beach Bar through the night.

I highly recommend coming to the Beach Bar at night to listen to the light music while having snacks and a drink. Interestingly, The night sky was also beautiful with A LOT of stars. If you are visiting here during the weekend, there will live band performance until around 9 PM and the music will also louder. You might also be able to catch some fireworks coming from Potato Head, which is just beside the hotel! So take note of this so you know when best to visit the bar. (´• ω •`)ノ

Dining at Alila Seminyak Seasalt

The Seasalt restaurant is the main restaurant at Alila Seminyak. Our stay doesn’t include breakfast and I was down with food poisoning on our last day in Bali, so we didn’t have a chance to try their breakfast. I am pretty bummed about it. But we did have a chance to try its signature Sunday Seafood Brunch so go and read it! (´• ω •`) ♡

In-Room Dining

Alila Seminyak’s In-Room Dining is from 6 AM – 1 AM, with breakfast being from 6 AM – 11 AM. I find it hard to come by a hotel’s in-room dining that goes until after midnight. A lot of the hotels we stayed in only had it until around 10.30 PM or so. So this should be good for party-goers. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Anyway, we didn’t want to go out for dinner on our first night in Alila Seminyak so we decided to order in-room dining. We had Fish & Chips, Chicken Wings as well as Pisang Goreng. The Fish & Chips were so nice and crispy! I never thought that I would be so amazed by fish & chips but I did. Or maybe I was really hungry. (´• ω •`)

The Chicken Wings came out totally different than what we expected. They look more like drumlets and they were so soft and tender! The marinade went so well with the chicken that I can’t stop eating them. The Pisang Goreng pales in comparison to the above two dishes. The presentation was really pretty but the taste was just normal. So all in all, I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED the Chicken Wings if you are looking for light snacks to go along with your drinks. (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

It’s Time for Some Pool Time~!

Enough about food, it’s time for us to head to the swimming pool! There are a total of three swimming pools in Alila Seminyak, two of which, I assume, are only for in-house guests. An adult-only pool is located on the left of the reception area and is directly in front of our Ocean View Suite. The family-friendly pool is located on the right of the reception area. And then there’s the pool around the Beach Bar. This is probably for everyone who dines here or who books their sun loungers with Alila Seminyak.

Since our Ocean View Suite has a view of the adult-only pool as well as a partial view of the family-friendly pool, hubs and I have observed that the family-friendly pool doesn’t seem to be as crowded. On the other hand, the adult-only pool would usually be fully “booked” by around 10 AM or so.

By being “booked”, I mean guests would be putting down their belongings on the sun lounger before going for their breakfast. Though there is a sign that says items would be removed if they are placed there beyond 30 minutes, I am not sure how strict the hotel is with this rule. But at least I think it acts as a deterrence so that guests would not “book” the day beds in the morning and only come back at noon.

Full capacity of the adult-only pool at 12.30 PM

Enjoying the Infinity Pool

Anyway, since we were able to observe the situation of the adult-only pool from our suite, we decided to go to the pool during breakfast time. Lucky for us, we got ourselves two sun loungers just right by the pool~! This also means that we would disturb fewer people while we tried to take our signature poses in the pool. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Honestly, until today, I still don’t feel comfortable doing those poses in public pools. Hubs is the one giving me the courage to act silly in public. (´ ω `♡) You would think that having taken so many photos in different public pools, I would be braver. But no, it never gets easier. The constant reminder to myself to just do it! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Anyway, there were only two other couples there so we got the whole pool to ourselves. And since it is an adult-only pool, we could also enjoy the pool without kids splashing around as well. ( ´ ω ` ) For those who want to chill their time away by the pool, which seems like a lot of them are doing, you could order food and drinks with the staff as well. Quite a good way to enjoy an almost full day by the pool~! ⁽⁽◝( • ω • )◜⁾⁾

Time to Rest and Relax with Alila Spa

In case you didn’t know, hubs and I are HUGE fans of Alila Spa. So since we are in Bali, we could not miss out on the chance to visit Alila Seminyak for its spa services~! (´ ε ` )

We visited Alila Spa twice, once while we were staying at Villa Bella and once when we stayed with them. For whatever reason, the first massage that we had was not quite what we expected. I would even say it’s not the Alila standard that we were looking for. Something was missing and we just can’t put the words to it. Maybe the strength was off? Or maybe the skills of the masseurs felt lacking? Both hubs and I felt that it wasn’t as great as we wanted.

Since we were having a second appointment with them, we decided to give them another chance. If it’s just as average, I was tempted to give direct feedback to the spa manager. And thankfully, this session was AH-MAZING. As I said, it is always hard to convey what we mean by amazing. Everything has to be on point to be amazing and here at Alila Seminyak is what hits the spot for us. So we were lucky to leave Alila Spa feeling fantastic. ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

A HUGE Gym!

I wanted to work out while at Alila Seminyak but I was enjoying our stay so much that I don’t feel like working out. Haha! But anyway, we did drop by the gym to have a look. And I was so tempted to change into my activewear to try out the equipment there! w(°o°)w

The gym was HUGE and it had so many types of machines there! It even has a Smith Machine, which I have always been so tempted to give a try. But lazy being lazy, and with only two days left in Bali, I didn’t want to get sore and didn’t try them out. (´-ω-`)

I love going to gyms in hotels to see what new equipment I can get my hands on since I always work out at home. (☆▽☆) But that day was just not the day. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Anyway, I saw that some weight plates were not being re-racked when we visited the gym. For anyone staying at Alila Seminyak for a longer period, having such a well-equipped gym is really something nice to have. I do hope that guests can be more considerate and do their due diligence to make it a better environment for the next guest using the equipment. \(★ω★)/

Overall Experience at Alila Seminyak

Everything at Alila Seminyak was fantastic, from the food to the facilities and lastly to the staff. I never really mention much about the staff but we have received nothing but amazing service from all of them. Everyone was always wearing a smile on their face while greeting us. If only it was cheaper to stay at Alila Seminyak, I would definitely come back in a heartbeat with my hubs when we are in Bali. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

If you are looking for a beachfront property to stay in Seminyak, I would highly recommend staying with Alila Seminyak. Not only is its Ocean View Suite amazing, but it also has generally great food as well as an AMAZING spa service. Just be warned about the monstrous waves, if that is a thing. ♡ (⇀ 3 ↼)
