Atmosphere 360: Buffet Restaurant with Amazing Views at KL Tower

KL Tower (Menara) was just a drive-by during our day trip the last time we were in Kuala Lumpur. I didn’t even have a good look at it since I was sitting on the other side of the vehicle. Haha! Considering we see it daily from our apartment during this trip, hubs and I decided to check it out in person this time! As part of our tradition of having a good meal before coming home, we decided to have a hi-tea buffet session at KL Tower’s Atmosphere 360 as well. If you want to know if KL Tower and Atmosphere 360 restaurant are worth a visit, you have to keep reading! ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝

Visiting KL Tower and Dining at Atmosphere 360

You can check out three spots at the KL Tower: Observation Deck, Sky Deck and Sky Box. The Observation Deck is indoors, whereas the Sky Deck and Box are outdoors. The Sky Box is a boxed-up area with glass floors, an extension of the Sky Deck. The outdoor area is weather-dependent, though. So if it rains, I don’t think you can access the area. But based on what is shared on Klook, you can opt to come back the following day for free. This might not be ideal for everyone since you might have plans for the next day. So, do plan with this restriction in mind! (´• ω •`)ノ

Ticket Prices for KL Tower Observation & Sky Decks

Anyway, at the time of writing, the KL Tower online booking website was down for upgrading. As such, I couldn’t check the price on the official website. But I did get the price off Klook. For visiting the KL Tower Observation Deck only, the ticket price is 6.05 SGD per non-Malaysian adult. If you wish to visit the Sky Deck and Sky Box, it is an additional 10.96 SGD.

Price of Hi-Tea Buffet at Atmosphere 360 Restaurant

While looking for more information on Atmosphere 360, I realised that the price of dining at the restaurant includes admission to the Observation Deck as well. Hubs and I were not that interested in checking out the Observation Deck. But since it is already in the package, we decided to drop by early to check out the deck before our Hi-Tea session. (´• ω •`)

Anyway, the prices of dining at Atmosphere 360 vary depending on your meal and if you are coming on a weekday or weekend. We chose the cheapest option, the Hi-Tea Buffet, on a weekday as we didn’t want to spend too much here. Hehe. As listed on Klook, it is 25.35 SGD per adult. At the time of our booking, there was a promotion on Atmosphere 360’s official website. We managed to get 10% off our booking; hence, we decided to make a reservation through the website instead of Klook. If you are used to booking things through Klook, this is a reminder to check out the official website for promotions, too! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Also, window seats are limited and come at an additional price when dining at Atmosphere 360. If you want to have a window seat, I think booking through the official website would be better since you can put a note during reservation. However, there is still no guarantee since window seats are a popular request. Anyway, it costs RM25 (~7.21 SGD) per table for lunch and hi-tea and RM50 (~14.42 SGD) per table for dinner. Based on the official website, I have put the prices for lunch, hi-tea and dinner in the table below for easier reference!

Dress Code for Dining at Atmosphere 360

There is no dress code to visit KL Tower, but a dress code applies if you want to dine at Atmosphere 360, the revolving restaurant in the tower. Guests should be in a smart casual or easy-glam outfit, with gentlemen preferably wearing a collared shirt and long pants with covered shoes. As such, hubs and I brought a nice set of clothes to dine there. ( ´ ω ` )

Exploring KL Tower before our Hi-Tea Buffet

Once we got to KL Tower, we took a quick photo outside with the tower in the background! There wasn’t much to see outside, so hubs and I decided to go to the counter to get our tickets. As mentioned, we came earlier to check out the Observation Deck. I wasn’t expecting many people since it was a weekday and few people were queuing to go up. But once we reached the Observation Deck, I was surprised to see quite a number of people. Not a lot, but still more than expected. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

The area was not very big, so we walked around and tried to spot various iconic buildings from the Observation Deck. We were able to spot the Petronas Twin Towers and Merdeka 118 building from the deck. The Merdeka 118 building was especially prominent. Everywhere we go in Kuala Lumpur, it is within view. Haha!

Time for Hi-Tea Buffet at Atmosphere 360!

Hi-Tea buffet at Atmosphere 360 starts at 3.30 PM, and they were kind of strict with the timing. So even after we finished walking around, they had yet to open the queue to go to the restaurant. So we waited for a bit until it was time to head up~! The staff has noted our request for window seats, and we paid the additional RM25 on the spot. After this, we were brought to our table, and it was time to enjoy the buffet!

Food Quality of the Hi-Tea Session

Since the hi-tea buffet session was the cheapest meal at Atmosphere 360, hubs and I didn’t have a lot of expectations. After dining here, I can confirm that the food was average at best. Haha! The selection was not too bad. But taste-wise, it is not the best but not the worst. I would say that for the price that we paid, it was reasonable. ( ´ ω ` )

That being said, I did end up liking these fried fish sticks so much that I kept refilling my plate with them. Haha! Anyway, the best thing about dining here was definitely the 360 view of Kuala Lumpur city. Sadly, it started raining while we were eating there. So we only had a foggy look at the city. (´-ω-`) Luckily, we still got to see the Petronas Twin Towers and Merdeka 118 clearly, which was still lovely.

Unpleasant Experience with Another Table

Our meal there could have been better if not for the table behind us. It was a couple and their boy. The boy kept coming over in front of our table and blocking our view, and the parents did nothing to stop him. The worst was when the parents tried to have their photos taken beside the window in front of our table when Petronas Twin Towers was coming into view. Seeing that we were not going to move to let them take their photos, they went back to their table to wait for their turn to have the towers in front of them.

I mean, this is a 360 revolving restaurant. You will get your turn to have the iconic building in front of you. So I don’t understand why they were so rude to come into our space. The photographer of the restaurant was also partially at fault. He obviously knew the couple was from another table and didn’t respect our space AT ALL. I know he was doing his job, but he probably has to do better. ( `ε´ )

Overall Experience at KL Tower & Atmosphere 360

If you are considering coming to KL Tower to catch a view of the city, I highly recommend dining at Atmosphere 360. Why not enjoy the view while dining instead of just looking at the city? Putting aside the slightly unpleasant experience, hubs and I enjoyed our meal at Atmosphere 360. As I said, the food might not be the best, but at least there was quite a selection with some food that I enjoyed. I think the restaurant’s selling point is the 360 view of the city, so the food is considered secondary, in my opinion. Come for the view and have less expectation of the food, and you should be able to enjoy your experience here.

Anyway, we had the hi-tea buffet, so food was expected to be simpler as compared to lunch and dinner. So, maybe the food will be better for the other two meals, especially the dinner that comes with seafood. If you are just here to enjoy the view, then I definitely recommend going for the cheaper option. But whatever rocks your boat~! ( ´ ꒳ ` )
