Being a tentative stay-home wife now, I have been trying lots of cooking which I never thought I will ever do in the past. So just some time back, I tried cooking my own fried rice with guidance from Feng the day before. It was actually easier than expected once I get down to trying to cook it. Hehe. (★ω★)/

Fried Rice Recipe

Erm… The ikan bilis-looking thing in the fried rice, not sure what exactly is its name but it was from my mum. Haha! Anyway honestly, just add whatever you want to your fried rice. I just grab any ingredients I feel like having into the pan and cook them up. Simple dish. (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

  • Rice cooked the day before
  • Egg x 1
  • Prawns
  • Taiwan Sausage
  • Dark Soya Sauce

  1. Heat up the pan. Then put a small amount of oil to oil up the pan before cracking the egg into the pan.
  2. Up next is the rice. And then everything goes in.
  3. When everything looks cooked, put some dark soya sauce to make give the fried rice some colour.
  4. Fry everything a bit more to mix in the colour and it’s ready to be served~!

Mum’s Butter Rice Recipe

After my mum saw what I posted on Facebook, she decided to teach me a simple butter rice recipe. And yes, she has Facebook. Be amazed!!! So I tried out the really easy recipe today and it was really delicious and smell really nice~! Yum to the max! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

  • Rice
  • 1-2 tsp of butter
  • Estimated amount of garlic
  • A pinch of salt
  • Any ingredients of your choice

  1. Heat up the pan. Add in the butter.
  2. Then add in the garlic.
  3. Next up is the rice~! Fry around a bit to coat all the rice with butter.
  4. Then add in a pinch of salt.
  5. Mix around a bit before adding in any extra ingredients as you would for fried rice.

I cooked up the butter rice similar to how I make fried rice and honestly, the rice itself was already tasty enough. Yum yum yum to the max with the simplest ingredients! The photo of the butter rice also shows the Ngo Hiong my mum made. Another of my favourite item from mum’s cooked food. (´ ω `♡)
