If you have ever been to any resorts or hotels under Alila, you know that you would be expecting anything and everything great and luxurious. We had our first experience with Alila back in 2020 when we stayed with the now-defunct Alila Cha-Am. Needless to say, we were wow-ed by the experience back then. The service, the villa, the food and ESPECIALLY the spa massage was top-notch. Since then, everything Alila just resonates with us. As we were staying in Ubud, we decided to go to Alila Ubud to have a spa massage session and also have a late lunch after our massage at its Plantation Restaurant.

Plantation Restaurant, A Restaurant Nestled in Nature

The Plantation Restaurant is situated just a few steps away from the reception area, surrounded by nature. Since it was a late lunch, there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, which usually happens in a resort where everyone dines at different hours.

After ordering our lunch, we got to enjoy the peace and tranquillity that was surrounding us. We heard some rustling on the coconut trees and saw monkeys busy snatching coconuts from one another. The kind of disturbance that I don’t mind while dining. (´・ᴗ・ ` ) Just past the restaurant’s outdoor seating area, you will be able to see the public pool. For such a cloudy day, it was interesting to see that the deck chairs were fully occupied. (@_@)

What We Ate at The Plantation Restaurant

As with all Alila restaurants that we have been to, crackers were always being served together with different sauces. The last time we dined at Alila Villas Uluwatu, the sauces were being served in a Congkak, a traditional game in Asia. It was also that experience that got us started with eating crackers/chips with chilli dips. If you ever have a chance, try it for yourselves, and you might be converted too!

Hubs ordered the Kuah Kambing while I had the Duck Ravioli. It has become a trend that hubs would always be the ones ordering local food while I would always be ordering the safer options. (*/ω\)

We had wanted to drop by the Ubud main street for a walk, but the sky disagreed with us, so… We decided to head back to our resort after our lunch before the rain came after us.

Overall Experience

Food and service at Alila have never disappointed us, and the same goes for this time. The service staff was always very attentive during the whole time we dined there. He even came over to check with us if the food was good, which was great, by the way~! (* ̄▽ ̄)b

I always think the experience at Alila comes as a package. You might be there just for the food, but it comes with great service while immersing you in an environment that lets you chill while you dine. Here at the Plantation Restaurant, there was a spectacular view. And then there was a light breeze blowing while you ate. You even get to have random surprises from nature, which in our case is the fighting monkeys. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

If the above isn’t enough, the staff at Alila was kind enough to offer us a lift back to our villa after lunch after finding out that we do not live in their resort. I mean… If this is not a fantastic service, I don’t know what is. So, if you are ever near any Alila property, do not hesitate to drop by to experience their great service and food! ٩(◕‿◕。)۶
