Have you ever heard about Seminyak and thought it was so touristy that you might want to skip it for a quieter corner of Bali? Think fresh seafood and cosy coffee spots, all waiting to fuel your Bali adventure. If you are ready, let’s go check out the lovely restaurants and cafes in Seminyak together~! ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ

What is the Main Street with Restaurants in Seminyak?

As with all places in Bali, there is always a main street packed full of restaurants, cafes and services. The same goes for Seminyak, with its main street at Jl. Kayu Aya. Daytime Jl. Kayu Aya in Seminyak might look empty, but it is all just an illusion, as restaurants are usually packed with diners early in the morning. At night, the main street comes to life when you see many people walking on the streets or queuing up to get into their favourite restaurants.

You are wrong if you think the main street is the only place for good food and fun! Walk beyond the main street, and you will find many food options waiting to greet you with their fantastic food and vibe. That is why I created this guide to restaurants and cafes in Seminyak so you can better understand which ones to go to! ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝

Restaurants for All-Day Breakfast and Coffee in Seminyak

Calling all late-risers, coffee and brunch lovers! This section is all for you as I share the best spots in Seminyak serving breakfast and speciality coffees all day! You got that right. All day, every day! Hungry already? Let’s get going~! ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ

1. Livingstone

Livingstone Bali had me drooling over their food and coffee! Their croissant was nice and flaky, and their coffee was almost as good as Revolver Espresso. If you want a quiet place for breakfast, this might not be your top choice. But for those who can handle the crowd, the food and coffee are totally worth it!

2. Milk & Madu

We wanted to check out Milk & Madu on our last trip to Ubud due to its raving reviews. But my gosh, the crowd was horrible! So, we skipped that and moved on to something else. By sheer luck, we saw Milk & Madu off the delivery list on GoJek and thought, “Why not?”. So, we decided to order some of its food for breakfast~! ( ´ ▽ ` )

Our food and coffee that we ordered from Milk & Madu in Seminyak

I was slightly disappointed by how they looked when the food reached us. But luckily, they still tasted quite good. Phew. Even the Flat White was of good quality, though not the best. So, if you are thinking of trying Milk & Madu and want to avoid the crowd, you can consider ordering through food delivery apps!

3. Monsieur Spoon Seminyak

Monsieur Spoon Seminyak has probably been around for quite some time. But for some weird reason, it does not get mentioned as often as its neighbourly cafes. Hubs and I probably passed by it multiple times but did not notice it. (´・ᴗ・ ` ) With a longer stay in Seminyak, we finally had more time to visit more restaurants for breakfast!

The croissants we had at Monsieur Spoon, one of the restaurants we visited in Seminyak

Our visit to Monsieur Spoon Seminyak made us realise this cafe deserves more love from all of us. Not only does it have a more refreshing all-day breakfast menu, but it also has a more affordable price for its delicious food. If you are looking for these in a breakfast place in Seminyak, do check out Monsieur Spoon Seminyak!

4. Pison

We wanted some coffee to chill by the pool in our villa, so we decided to get some from Pison Coffee! We had a Flat White and Espresso Avocado. Since our gold standard is Revolver Espresso, we can’t help comparing the flat white to it. Pison’s one was not too bad, though the coffee was slightly bitter with less foam. I got the Espresso Avocado after trying it at Livingstone. It was okay, but the one at Livingstone was better. So, yep, Pison’s coffee is not too bad if you need some coffee to start your morning routine!

5. Revolver Espresso

You would be doing yourself a disservice if you are a coffee lover and don’t check out Revolver Espresso! After just one visit to the restaurant, we were in love with its coffee. The morning crowd was crazy when we were there, so make sure you drop by early if you don’t want to wait! Oh, and make sure you have an order of their amazing carrot cake as well! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

P.S. If you are still craving some good coffee at the airport, you are in for a treat, as Revolver Espresso now has outlets at the Bali Airport, both international and domestic terminals! We spotted it on our last trip and regretted not dining there as we came out from the lounge. Now we know; next time, we will! So just sharing the good news with you~!

6. Baby Revs

We were craving some good morning coffee during our stay at The Wina Villa Seminyak. The local coffee just wasn’t right for us, so we decided to get on GoJek to see what was good. And there it was, Baby Revs, Revolver Espresso’s little sister coffee booth! o(>ω<)o

The street view of Baby Revs and the coffee we ordered from them
Screenshot of Baby Revs taken from Google Maps

Baby Revs has a small subset of the menu from its sister cafe. But that’s all right, as all we wanted was coffee! We got ourselves a Flat White and can’t help feeling happy about it as it had the same standard as Revolver Espresso—the same excellent coffee with the right milky foam consistency. If you are staying far from the main street, Baby Revs might be just within reach of your accommodation~!

7. Sisterfields

You can’t be in Seminyak and not hear of Sisterfields. It is probably one of the most highly recommended restaurants in Seminyak for brunch, which is why it gets crowded in the morning! It’s not common in most breakfast places in Seminyak, but if you are into burgers for breakfast, they have it here. You got that right! Burgers are available on the menu during breakfast. The restaurant gets pretty busy as the morning unfolds, so swing by early to avoid the wait~! ( ´ ω ` )

Are you looking for a vibrant restaurant that has some Instagram-worthy dishes? Well, the KYND Community in Seminyak might be the one for you! Its colourful interior and delicious-looking food caught my attention when I looked for breakfast spots near our villa. And you know what else they have? Mimosa! What better way to enjoy breakfast than with a glass of Mimosa and a smoothie bowl? Yum. ( ´ ω ` )

But, sadly, laziness got the better of us, so we went somewhere else for breakfast instead. I have this on my shortlist list of restaurants to visit in Seminyak, so I thought I wanted to share this with you so that you can try it on my behalf~!

Restaurants for Casual Dining in Seminyak

Looking for restaurants that serve good food with a chill vibe? I got you! In this section, I will share with you some vibrant restaurants in Seminyak that serve up good eats in a laid-back environment.

Being the sister restaurant of the ever-popular Sisterfields, hubs and I thought that we should at least try something from BOSSMAN. I am not a huge burger person, so I leave it to hubs to decide what he wants to order from them. And he got us a Lucky Pig burger since we loved having babi guling in Bali. Haha! I would say that is an interesting choice, and it was actually quite good. ( ´ ω ` ) So, if you are craving burgers in Seminyak, you might want to visit BOSSMAN!

11. Motel Mexicola

For a place that is more well-known for its nightlife scene in Seminyak, we were blown away by the quality of Mexican food served here at Motel Mexicola. I highly recommend dropping by for its food in the afternoon. And if you are all about partying, you can come by again at night. Lunchtime seems rather peaceful, but I can’t say the same for nighttime. So choose your visit wisely~! (´• ω •`)

12. Naughty Nuri’s Warung Seminyak

Naughty Nuri’s was one of the first few restaurants we visited during our first-ever trip to Seminyak. It was so memorable as they had one of the best ribs we have ever eaten. I remember how huge the portion of ribs was when it was served to our table and how hubs and I were wondering how to tackle it. Haha! We shared the table with other diners, and everyone enjoyed digging into the ribs with their hands. The meat was absolutely soft and tender and tasted amazing. You just can’t help licking the sauce off your fingers after the meal! o(>ω<)o

14. UNIBOWL PokeBowl Bali

Many places sell smoothie bowls, and I always think it is hard to come by one that sells savoury bowls. So imagine my happiness when we found UNIBOWL! They have a wide variety of savoury bowls; if those were not to our liking, we could even make our own bowls. It was so good that we ordered from them again before returning home. \(★ω★)/ For those of you looking for healthy, savoury bowls in Bali, UNIBOWL is THE ONE! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Imagine dining while watching the sun go down into the horizon, painting the sky a beautiful mix of colours before the night arrives. We had our dinner there once, and it was quite an experience, with the amazing food and great service. Dining at KU DE TA does come at a higher price tag, but it was all worth it. (ᵔ◡ᵔ)

What better way to cool ourselves down than to get some cold drinks and dessert? And that was what we did during our visit to La Lucciola. It was, then, a highly recommended restaurant in Seminyak. So, when we got there, we were surprised to see the whole restaurant fully packed. Luckily, we could still get a table and enjoy some of the ocean views from where we were seated. It was not as chill as we wanted, with the crowd, but it was still quite a good experience! (´• ω •`)

You didn’t see that wrongly. It is Alila Seminyak again! Haha! (´・ᴗ・ ` ) Since Alila Seminyak is right beside the beach, it has made full use of this and has the Seasalt restaurant and Beach Bar built right by the beach. Of all the places I mentioned in this section, I personally think the view from the Beach Bar was the best.

The Alila Spritzer and the view we had at the Beach Bar, Alila Seminyak

With no coconut trees blocking the view, the ocean and sunset are just right in front of us. The bean bag seats, though not as ergonomic for eating, were the best to sit on to enjoy the view while having a drink. And as it got dark, we even spotted stars in the sky! With such an amazing experience, how can I not recommend the Beach Bar to you? (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Having taken over the space formerly occupied by Char Char Grill & Bar, Ultimo has a terrace that allows you to do some people-watching while dining! Local Delights in Seminyak

Until now, I have mostly shared my experiences of restaurants and cafes we have been to in Seminyak. But sadly, that is what it is like here in Seminyak. If you don’t go out of your way to look for local food, these are what you will see. So, for us to try out local cuisines, hubs and I found that the best way to do this is through apps, i.e. GoJek and Grab. But before I share some tips on using these apps, let me share some of our favourite local delights here in Seminyak! ⸜( ´ ꒳ ` )⸝

22. 8twenty Warung

Located just within walking distance of our villa in Batu Belig, we are about 99% sure this warung prepared our breakfast. Not only was the breakfast menu item the same, but even the description was the same! Anyway, on one fateful night, we decided to order Indomie Goreng from this warung. I know, it is just instant noodles, but it was so good! I love it so much that we ended up ordering it for two consecutive nights. Haha! (*/ω\) You don’t have to order Indomie Goreng from this warung, but this is just to highlight how heavenly Indomie Goreng is, and you should try it when in Bali! \(★ω★)/

23. Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen

Pak Malen was the first babi guling place that we tried. And since then, we have been satisfying our babi guling cravings from them every time we return to Bali. The spice, the meat, and everything just works so well with Pak Malen’s babi guling.

The babu guling that we ordered from Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen, one of the warungs we ordered from in Seminyak

I don’t care what people say about how touristy or expensive Pak Malen’s babi guling is. The important thing is we love it; it suits our taste buds, and nothing will change our minds about it. We have tried others in Bali and always go back to Pak Malen. If you are not good at eating spicy food, you might want to be careful with the chilli-looking dish in the pack! You have been warned~! 24. Tahu Crispy Sumedang Al Fajri

We randomly came across this place on the GoJek app when I was looking for something to snack on while chilling in our villa. I am a big beancurd lover or, in this case, tahu. So when I came across this listing on GoJek, I told hubs I wanted to try their crispy tahu and tempe. And boy, were we in for a treat!

The crispy tahu and tempe we ordered from Tahu Crispy Sumedang Al Fajri, one of the food stalls we ordered from in Seminyak

The crispy tahu was great, but what was even better was the thinly fried crispy tempe! They were so good that I couldn’t stop snacking on them. Haha! Since then, it has become another thing we MUST order when we return to Seminyak. The tempe seems to always be sold out. So, if you are thinking of trying, you better order early! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Tips on Using GoJek & Grab for Food Delivery in Seminyak

If you are staying near the Seminyak main street, you will realise that the street mainly comprises restaurants and cafes. And that is why having apps like GoJek and Grab is so good! If you are like us and don’t have a scooter to get around the area, having these food delivery options was a godsend. Not only do we have more food options, but we can also try local food that we have always been curious about but didn’t know where to get!

Screenshots from the GoJek app
Screenshots taken from the GoJek app

There is so much you could do on GoJek and Grab that you should have them on your phone before travelling to Bali~! ⸜( *ˊᵕˋ* )⸝ Since this is a guide to restaurants and warungs in Seminyak, let me focus on sharing some tips on using GoJek and Grab. I will do more details on what else you can do on these apps in a separate post, so remember to watch for it! (ᵔ◡ᵔ)

Register an Account in Your Home Country before Going to Bali

Why is this a tip, you ask? Well, people were having issues registering for an account on GoJek with their home number when they got to Bali. So, people suggested trying to register at home before going to Bali. If it works, you should be all good in Bali. If not, you might want to consider getting a local SIM card instead.

Alternatively, you could use Grab, as people seem to have it working more so than with GoJek. Anyway, in my opinion, and based on our order history, I think GoJek is still the better option for us. So, if possible, I think you should get both apps to work on your phone! And if you are wondering why I can’t share my registration experience, it’s because I can’t. Both apps are available in Singapore, and I could use them seamlessly in Bali. So, there’s that. (´• ω •`)

Always Make Sure Your Address is Correct before Confirmation

Sometimes, the pin on the map moved, and now your address is somewhere that is a few streets away. Ahhhhhh~! Please don’t ask me how to change the pin after confirmation because I don’t know. Haha! So, to avoid this issue, always check that your address is correct before pressing confirm! Or, even better, save your address in the address book to avoid having such issues! (ᵔ◡ᵔ)

Help Your Driver to Get to You Easily

You know how some delivery riders end up missing the alley to your villa and have to do a merry-go-round to come back to you? No? You don’t have this problem? Lucky you, then! Something similar happened to us, but it was more about getting a ride on GoJek.

Anyway, one thing that we always do is to share a photo of our villa entrance with the delivery rider. A visual cue is always easier than finding the villa number, especially at night. It is even better if you have landmarks near you! We were staying beside Revolver Espresso in Seminyak, and using it as the landmark has made it easier for riders to locate our villa. ( ´ ω ` )

How Much is an Average Meal in Seminyak?

I honestly think having food delivery in Seminyak has made it easier for us to eat more for less. If you are staying near or along the Seminyak main street (Jln. Kayu Aya) and do not have access to local warungs, you will be looking at spending a lot more. I know many people staying in Seminyak are usually party people, and alcohol isn’t cheap in Seminyak. Alcohol is where they get all your money! So, if you do that, the average cost per meal will not be affordable.

But if you are willing to widen your horizon and order from some local warungs from food delivery apps, your meal can be as low as 20,000 IDR for a box of Indomie Goreng. So, it boils down to where you eat while staying in Seminyak. Go out and enjoy the good food and party. But always remember there are options on days when you want to spend less on food. ( ´ ω ` )
