I have always wanted to check out Shrimpis Restaurant in Seminyak since I got to know about it. And guess what? We finally made it happen during our recent trip to Bali, and I couldn’t be any more excited than that! Come along and find out if this place was worth the wait with me~! (@´ー`)ノ゙

Why Did I Want to Visit Shrimpis Restaurant?

Out of so many restaurants in Seminyak, you might wonder why Shrimpis Restaurant is at the top of my must-visit restaurants. Well, that is because I am a huge shrimp lover! So, when I got to know about the All You Can Eat Shrimps at the restaurant, I was like, “I must visit this restaurant no matter what!”. (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

And you know what’s the funny thing? Hubs and I totally did not go for the All You Can Eat Shrimps, even though that was what initially attracted me to the restaurant. Haha! There is a reason why, and I will share more with you later in this post!

A Seafood Feast at Shrimpis Restaurant

After our spa at Alila Seminyak and watching the sunset by the beach, it was time for dinner! It was a short walk from the beach at Seminyak to Shrimpis Restaurant. I’m not sure if it has to do with the time we were there, but only a few tables were sitting outdoors while the indoors was almost empty. That was good for us as we could get a table quickly. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Super Fresh Oysters For-The-Win!

With so many people raving about Shrimpis Restaurant’s oysters, we obviously must also try them out. The oysters cost us 25K IDR (~2.10 SGD) each, and since we are not oyster lovers, we only ordered three of them. Hubs decided to be adventurous and ordered a beer-battered version to try, which cost an additional 10K IDR (~0.90 SGD).

As I mentioned, we don’t eat a lot of oysters, so we don’t really know what is considered fresh. But I think the ones here tasted really fresh since the original ones had a taste of the sea when we gulped them down. Haha! I don’t exactly know how to describe the taste, but it just had this seawater taste when we ate it. So, that’s fresh, right? (*/ω\) The beer-battered one, on the other hand, was average. It is better to save up the 10K IDR and order the fresh ones if you love oysters. (´• ω •`)

Going Ala-Carte instead of the Unlimited Shrimps

As mentioned, we did not go for the All You Can Eat Shrimps. This decision was made after we read reviews on Google saying that the size of the shrimps served for the All You Can Eat Shrimps was quite small. And considering you have to pay 295K IDR (~25.30 SGD) per pax for this, many said it was not worth the price.

That was why we ordered a medium portion of 250g sauteed Own-Farmed Super Fresh Shrimps, hoping we would be given regular-sized shrimps. Generally, the shrimps served to our table looks okay. But there were some smaller ones in the mix. Since we were paying 145K IDR (~12,40 SGD) for this, hubs and I thought it was reasonable. (ᵔ◡ᵔ)

Our medium portion of 250g sauteed shrimps and the indoor seating at the restaurant.

Anyway, there are a few options on how you want the shrimps to be prepared. Many people were saying the sauteed version was the best, and that was what we went with as well. And they were right! It was delicious! The sauce was so good that you couldn’t help licking them off after peeling the shell off the shrimp. Haha! (っ˘ڡ˘ς)

Our Choice of Carbo was Less than Ideal

For some reason, we decided that we wanted Chilli Cheese Fries. I don’t know why that is, but we ordered that. Well, it was nice when it was served fresh to our table. Since we enjoyed our seafood too much, we neglected the fries, and the cheese hardened after a while! Going back to it after the cheese had hardened was not ideal. So that’s on us. Haha! (*/ω\) If you order this, you’d better have them before the cheese hardened!

Unexpected Highlight of Our Meal: Clam Pot

Clam Pot was never on our list of items to order from Shrimpis Restaurant. It was always only about the shrimp, oysters and fries. So when the staff told us that there was a 50% off Clam Pot that day, we were like, “Why not?” and got ourselves the Chilli Garlic Clam Pot. And my oh my, it was the highlight of our meal! It was absolutely delicious! w(°o°)w

I was expecting only clams in a pot. So, when it was served to our table, I was surprised to see it came with a good amount of broth in the pot. The broth was the star of the dish. It was full of umami, and the flavour burst in our mouths. Hubs and I couldn’t stop drinking it once we started. It was so good that it was addictive. And that was how we ended up neglecting our other dishes. LOL. (´・ᴗ・ ` )

There are a few flavours to choose from. I don’t know about the others, but our Chilli Garlic one was SO GOOD. Besides the clams, there were bell peppers and smoked bacon, which probably gave the broth an extra boost in its already superb flavour. All thanks to the 50% discount, we got to enjoy one of the best dishes at Shrimpis Restaurant. \(★ω★)/

Overall Experience at Shrimpis Restaurant

If it is not apparent, yes, I love Shrimpis Restaurant! Oddly enough, I came here for the shrimps and left loving something else instead. Haha! Of all the dishes we had, I highly recommend the Clam Pot. If you are a big oyster lover, the oysters are also a must-have. Service, in general, was quite good, and our food was served pretty fast; probably got to do with fewer people in the restaurant. But all in all, hubs and I enjoyed our meal there.

With the crowd returning to Bali, this place might be crowded now (or not). So, the usual advice remains. Visit during off-peak hours to avoid the crowd. If not, make a reservation to guarantee a table at the restaurant. Lastly, make sure you order the Clam Pot! ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝
