Why You Should Stay in Private Pool Villas in Bali?

Since I am not good at swimming, I always find it awkward to use the public pool. So when there is an opportunity to stay at a private pool villa, hubs and I jumped at that idea. The first time that we stayed at one was in Alila Villas Uluwatu, and as expected, it was not cheap. But it was SO FUN. Since then, we started looking for either unique or affordable private pool villas to stay in.

Besides not having to share your pool with anyone, you can also use it any time you want! That is yet another great thing about staying at a private pool villa. If you are not afraid of the cold, you can even take a dip at night. (´・ᴗ・ ` ) If you are travelling with your friends to Bali, it makes even more sense to rent private pool villas! Besides the pool, some of the bigger villas even come with recreational activities such as billiard tables and BBQ grill, so you can have so much fun with your friends! ヽ(o´∀`)ノ♪♬

Private Pool Villas in Seminyak Bali

eqUILIBRIA Seminyak Bali

Having yet to find out about the amazing number of villas on Airbnb, hubs and I found this boutique resort: eqUILIBRIA Seminyak Bali. Located close to the busy Seminyak main street, what we love about this resort’s villa is its unique two-storey villa design! I know two-storey villas are not hard to come by. But the villa at eqUILIBRIA Seminyak Bali is totally different from others. The bedroom is in the basement, and they even have a waterfall in the villa! If you don’t call this unique, I don’t know what is!

If you are a couple looking for some romantic experiences, the resort also has some romantic setups that you can consider to spice up your relationship! (´• ω •`)ノ

One Eleven Bali

Hubs and I were attracted by the adult-only branding of One Eleven Bali and thought that it was quite interesting. Besides that, the villa has one of the longest private pools we have ever seen! w(°o°)w Having stayed in quite a few private villas, One Eleven Bali is definitely one of the most luxurious ones in its villa and pool size.

If you want a few days of luxury with your partner where you can swim to your heart’s content, this is the place! P.S. The resort also has a penthouse that fits 6 adults if you are looking for a cool place to stay with your friends and families! (´• ω •`)

Villa Bella

After staying in a few private villas where the living area is usually exposed, hubs and I decided that we wanted to find a place where everything is enclosed except for the pool area. We just prefer to be insect-free as much as possible while we hang out in the living area. (*/ω\) And that is how we found Villa Bella!

Besides being within walking distance of the Seminyak main street, the villa is just beside the popular Revolver Espresso! We LOVE the coffee from them, so this was a welcoming factor so we could drink them every morning. (´ ∀ ` *)

Villa Wahah

Villa Wahah is the first private villa that we have booked through Airbnb, after staying at resorts for the past trips. There are SO MANY private pool villas in Bali that we were spoilt for choice! We eventually went with Villa Wahah as it is also a short walking distance from the Seminyak main street.

Besides that, we have two mini-marts conveniently located along this street, which means we can get our drinks and snacks easily~! Since there are two bedrooms in this villa, this is a good place to stay with your friends. ( ´ ω ` )

Bonus: Room with an Ocean View at Alila Seminyak

This might not belong to the private pool villa, but I have to recommend Alila Seminyak as hubs and I LOVE everything about Alila. We have been wanting to stay at Alila Seminyak for quite some time. But with the overwhelming private pool villa choices in Seminyak, it is tough to go for something without a pool at a higher cost. (´・ᴗ・ ` ) But we eventually did it, and it was SO WORTH IT.

We had such an amazing view of the ocean and sunset every day from our balcony. The constant wind and sound of the waves could easily put us to sleep while we chill there. Service and food were also topnotch here. Everything was perfect, even when an unfortunate incident happened. If you can forgo the private pool for a luxurious stay, Alila Seminyak is the one to go to! ( *ˊᵕˋ* )⸝

Private Pool Villas in Ubud

COMO Uma Ubud

We stayed at COMO Uma Ubud during our first visit back to Ubud after the pandemic. We wanted to have staff who was available to help if anything happened, so hubs and I decided to choose hotel stays for this trip. As you know, private pools in hotels or resorts are usually quite expensive. Interestingly, the price was quite reasonable at COMO Uma Ubud, so we decided to stay there.

Me at the pool area and the bedroom at COMO Uma Ubud, one of the private pool villas we stayed in Ubud Bali

Everything but the private pool area was perfect. Since we chose this place for its private pool, there was a slight disappointment in the standard we got from a luxury resort. Putting that aside, the service and food were AMAZING.

Umah Sunset

Ubud is known for its lush green paddy fields, and that was what we were going for for our first trip to Ubud. We found this Umah Sunset on Airbnb and saw photos of the amazing paddy fields in front of the villa, and we were hooked. Haha! With its location away from the bustling Ubud central, it felt so peaceful staying at this villa. We could watch the farmers’ daily lives and kids playing with their kites in the field. It was an amazing stay.

If you are staying in Ubud, I highly recommend staying AWAY from Ubud central, as that area is way too busy for any kind of relaxation. A place like Umah Sunset is perfect if you want to chill. My only advice for staying here is to check when is the best season to see the lush green fields to avoid disappointment! (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Private Pool Villas in Uluwatu

Alila Villas Uluwatu

To me, Uluwatu is always being known for its cliffside ocean view. And that is why we decided to visit Alila Villas Uluwatu. it is NOT a coincidence that this is yet another Alila property. In fact, this is the second Alila property we visited after having an amazing one in Thailand. Even though we didn’t have a view of the ocean from our villa, everything about our stay was perfect. The room was perfect, the pool was perfect, and even the amenities were perfect!

A view of the private pool and cabana at Alila Villas Uluwatu, one of the private pool villas we stayed in Uluwatu Bali

The only thing I wished we had done was to have a more ideal flight timing so that we could enjoy the villa more. You definitely don’t want to miss out on dining at ALL its restaurants as the food there was amazing as well. Remember to chill at the Sunset Cabana and public pool for an amazing sunset and ocean view! ( ´ ꒳ ` )

Final Thoughts on Private Pool Villas in Bali

What’s there to say but we LOVE private pool villas in Bali! Maybe because we don’t have it here in Singapore since most of us are staying in apartments. So whenever there is a chance to have a private pool in our accommodation, I will be so excited. Haha! As compared to other countries, private pool villas in Bali are also more affordable.

Since there are so many to choose from, why stay at a hotel or resort, which is more expensive, when you can have a private pool villa which can be more affordable for a bigger space? That is what hubs and I think, and we have been having an enjoyable time finding different private pool villas to stay in Bali.

We were using a mileage hack, which no longer works, hence the frequent trip to Bali. But since the hack doesn’t work anymore, we will be exploring other parts of Southeast Asia for now. But I still hope this list will continue to grow as there are so many parts of Bali we have yet to explore! I also hope this list has given you an idea of which private pool villa to stay in Bali!
